Coach Jerry Norton is a dedicated, volunteer community leader who has spent a lifetime serving young people active in sports programs. He is 77 years old, a graduate of Columbia University and a retired aerospace engineering director. He enjoys his retirement covering youth sports as a photo-journalist for his community newspaper. Over the years,  Jerry  has coached baseball, football, softball, tennis and swimming and has conducted tennis clinics for Special Olympic, wheelchair and handicapped tennis players. He is the creator and commissioner of the unique player-friendly  Ponte Vedra Junior Development Football Program for 550 players between the ages of 6 and 13. He serves on the board of the local youth athletic association and has been recognized by the Town of Huntington, NY, the Jacksonville Beach, FL Junior Chamber of Commerce and the Ponte Vedra Rotary Club for service to youth. Jerry is the author of the highly acclaimed book “Mom Can I Play Football?  A Retrospective View of the Game for Parents and Coaches.”
